The Bryn Mawr Presbyterian Church Hunger Committee’s mission is to help as many of the area’s hungriest neighbors as possible through the active support of local food cupboards and shelters. This is achieved through direct financial assistance and other means, such as supplying nourishing casseroles and nonperishable food items donated by BMPC members. Philadelphia has one of the highest poverty rates in the country, and the recent surge in inflation and rising cost of living have further intensified the needs of the local communities. As society’s safety net contracts, the food agencies that BMPC supports play a vital role in the fight against hunger.
