ArtWell was founded in 2000 to reach underserved young people facing poverty, discrimination, and violence in the city of Philadelphia. Its mission is to support young people and their communities through multidisciplinary arts expression, education, and creative reflection, helping them celebrate their strengths, thrive while facing complex challenges, and awaken their dreams. ArtWell fosters connections among individuals from diverse cultures and faith traditions, deepening their understanding of themselves and their communities with the ultimate goal of reducing violence and increasing peace in the region. Since its inception, ArtWell has partnered with over 400 schools and community organizations, transforming the lives of more than 42,300 participants.
