RAWTools takes a comprehensive approach to guiding communities away from violence. Its goal is to help teach people new ways to solve problems through building relationships, fostering dialogue, and alternative means of justice. Its mission to “disarm hearts and forge peace” is grounded in the belief that one can choose the tools used to navigate conflict. By transforming swords into plowshares, spears into pruning hooks, and guns into garden tools, RAWTools creates powerful symbols of change, telling stories of magnificent transformation while recognizing the deep trauma of grief and loss. RAWTools also offers training programs on using resources, skills, and practices to handle conflict, both as violence prevention and as a healing process after violence occurs.
